Just a Little Curious About Us?

So who am I? My name is Karen E. Overton. I quilt professionally using a hand-guided A1 Elite Longarm Quilting Machine working out of my studio located in the Texas Gulf Coast between Houston and Galveston.

Basically I'm just someone who loves quilts! I'm the girl next door, the lady sitting next to you in church...just a run of the mill plain Jane with the gift of gab, the glee of show and tell, and the joy of sharing the passion of quilting! I love my job! I'm surrounded by quilts and quilters - what could be better! I'm amazed at the piecing talents of my customers and love assisting them in finishing their future heirlooms. It has been my privilege to be a part of several award winning quilts, a few published quilts, and part of the creation of many many memories – from finishing a customer’s quilt to the making of T-shirt quilts – what fun!

As an authorized dealer with A1 Quilting Machines, servicing the Lone Star State of Texas, I have the joy of introducing a new machine owner to the wonderful world of longarm quilting, nothing could be better than

sharing my love of quilting in this fashion. I call it "birthing" a new quilter, and believe me, we do become family!

By the way, this is where the "us" really comes in - I couldn't set up the machines without my husband Johnny! Oh, and the other "us" is my side kick Pixxie, my professional quilt model. Check out the photo gallery and I'm sure you'll see her working hard for her treats!

I am also a Certified Instructor with Square in a Square™, a unique piecing technique that never cuts triangles yet produces complex looking designs and patterns. I love teaching piecing classes to beginners as well as seasoned quilters in my studio, local quilt shops and "on the road."
